In our first week of being on the Lerario/Strong team we learned more about the project called Light where we take photos of different stuff or things our teachers want us to experiment with. We also learned about the basics of cameras like shutter speed and the rule of thirds. We even got to go out and take pictures during Monday morning. We talked about safety parodical in chemistry and make a sign to remind kids of the safety rules. We also talked about a photo taken during the little rock integration. in conclusion it was a fun week and cant wait to do more with the team! Photos from the week 1/18/2017 - 1/22/2016Safety posterDraft #1Draft #2Little Rock IntegrationThis photo historically speaking is significant and iconic . Not just because it was the first few black kids to integrate into an all white school that was part of it, but more than that it captures every perspective that was happening at the time in one shot. You have the lady screaming at Elizabeth. You can see some grils on the side who appears they are just trying to get to school. You got Elizabeth who is being harassed but keeps her cool. But the craziest thing about this photo to me is there army guy in the back just doing his job, which is to protect the new kids. Weather they agree top third or not they really don't have a say right now because there job is not to have an opinion it is to follow there orders. So we have no idea really what they are think unlike everyone else who have obvious reactions to the whole thing. So as a viewer I am left to guess.
